A&K optimistic for Egypt
As Egyptians go to the polls this week in the country’s first free presidential election, Abercrombie & Kent, which has been operating in Egypt for 30 years and has 10 offices around the country, does not expect any disruption to client itineraries or movements.
The travel company said it had conducted a number of meetings to closely monitor the situation and its guests on the ground.
The military and security forces have deployed personnel to secure polling places and disruptions are not expected during the voting period, A&K said.
Abercrombie & Kent managing director, Sujata Raman, said the signs were positive for its business in Egypt.
"Tourism will play a crucial role in the country’s economic recovery,” she said, "and our current two for one offers are going a long way to enticing new and return travellers to the country.
"Now is the time to go, there’s never been a better reason and it’s never been better value."
