Alaska cruise ship dock closed over rockslide threat
A cruise ship dock in Skagway, Alaska has been closed over the risk of rockslide. The forward berth on the Railroad Dock is out of service following a risk assessment report by an engineering firm.
There port was commissioned after a rockslide in June.
It says a ‘catastrophic’ rockslide is inevitable with ‘significant risks to life and property’
It means itinerary changes for three Princess Cruises ships which were scheduled to call on July 27, 28, and 30. Ships will instead go to Sikta, Alaska.
