The American Bus Association (ABA) named Albuquerque, New Mexico’s 300th birthday as its Top 100 US event for 2006.

The year-long celebration of Albuquerque’s 300th birthday is filled with fiestas, special events, exhibits and more.

The top Canadian Event for last year was the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario.

“Going beyond the typical county exposition, the Royal Agriculture Winter Fair brings Canada’s best livestock, agriculture, horticulture and indoor equestrian sport to the city,” said the ABA. The event draws 340,000 spectators.

Some of the ABA’s other events in its top 100 for 2006 include the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon, WA, and the Green County Cheese Days in Monroe, WI.

The Tulip festival offers garden tours, farm tours and shopping.

Cheese Days is the oldest and largest food fest in the Midwest, honoring Swiss heritage and the cheese-making traditions of the area.

A listing of all the 2006 Top Events can be found at www.buses.org.
