With Alipay+ Voyager, Ant International provides an AI travel assistant in Asian E-Wallets

Alipay+ Voyager is the next-generation AI-powered travel companion unveiled by Ant International.

The tool operates directly within digital wallets and super apps. Alipay+ Voyager aims to transform effectively how users plan and experience travel.

Partners such as Agoda, Fliggy and Trip.com ensure a smooth, uninterrupted experience at every stage of the journey, from planning to booking to discovering services, via Alipay+‘s global partner apps.

A seamless bridge between travel planning, booking, and in-destination services, Alipay+ Voyager integrates AI into a single, voice- and text-enabled interface. The service is accessible via some of Asia’s most widely used mobile wallets: Alipay (Mainland China), AlipayHK (Hong Kong), and GCash (Philippines).

A Unified AI Interface Across Borders

Alipay+ Voyager builds on the growing demand for mobile-first travel solutions, particularly among Gen Z and millennial consumers. With the integration of intelligent tools into digital wallets, Ant International offers travelers an all-in-one solution. It guides them from itinerary planning to on-the-go recommendations—while using their trusted e-wallet environments.

The technology leverages agentic AI—a form of proactive artificial intelligence capable of anticipating user needs and responding in real time. For instance, the system can detect travel disruptions such as delayed flights or sudden weather changes. It then offers alternative plans or services tailored to the user’s preferences.

“Travelers today are using more tech to enhance their trips. There is a need for the industry to adapt and meet these new and emerging expectations,” said Douglas Feagin, President of Ant International. “By integrating a proactive, always-on AI travel companion within digital wallets that consumers already use frequently, we’re empowering travel and wallet partners with new opportunities to engage travelers in a more relevant, personalized way, through every step of their journey.”

Connecting Merchants, Wallets, and Consumers

Alipay+ Voyager is part of a broader strategy by Ant International to position Alipay+ as a global wallet gateway, linking over 100 million merchants to 36 e-wallets and super apps used by 1.7 billion consumers worldwide. This ecosystem, built since 2015, has become an important enabler for fintechs and mobile wallet providers in emerging markets.

Now, through Voyager, Ant International is aiming to expand beyond payments into AI-powered consumer services, using its GenAI Cockpit platform to develop solutions across industries.

Benefits for the Travel Sector

The online travel industry is projected to grow by 10% annually through 2032, with mobile currently accounting for two-thirds of all travel-related traffic. Alipay+ Voyager capitalizes on this trend, especially as users seek more curated, hyperlocal experiences.

The key features of Alipay+ Voyager include:

  • End-to-end intelligent assistance: A unified hub for pre-trip planning, real-time support during travel, and post-trip actions.

  • Real-time global-to-local transition: Integration with local services such as public transportation, ride-hailing, shopping, and dining.

  • Proactive AI interaction: Anticipates user needs before they arise, offering personalized recommendations within users’ native wallets.

  • Business growth opportunities: A simplified way for OTAs and merchants to scale across multiple consumer markets using a single integration point.

As the rollout continues through 2025, Ant International plans to expand Alipay+ Voyager to additional markets and partners. It will strengthen its positioning as a global AI infrastructure provider for the travel and fintech sectors.
