All Leisure Group sells Egypt specialist
All Leisure Group has sold off its specialist operator Discover Egypt to its management team.
It announced this morning that the niche operator was now part of Platinum Holidays, which was set up in May this year.
The management team consists of All Leisure Group’s chairman and director Roger Allard, All Leisure Holidays commercial director Philip Breckner and All Leisure Holidays director David Wiles.
All Leisure said in its statement that All Leisure Holidays would ‘continue to meet the demands of the growing tour and cruise markets with its brands Travelsphere, Just You, Swan Hellenic, Hebridean Island Cruises and Voyages of Discovery’.
When it released its end of year results last October, the group said demand for tours to Turkey and the Middle East was ‘sharply down’ but it said Discover Egypt ‘continues to maintain its historic position as a leading holiday and cruise operator’.
All Leisure left the the stock market just weeks ago after months of tough trading conditions. Its turnover for the year to October 2015 was £127.3 million, down from £138.9 miillion a year earlier, but the group made a £500,000 profit compared with a £7.5 million loss the previous year.
