Low cost airline Allegiant has named Jude Bricker to the position of chief operating officer, replacing the recently departed Steve Harfst.
Harsft stood down folowing a number of safety issues involving emergency landings.
It marks added responsibility for Bricker who is Allegiant’s senior vice president of planning.
He will oversee all flight operations, maintenance and safety, as well as continuing his current role in charge of network and fleet strategy.
The company has also expanded the role of current chief financial officer Scott Sheldon who will also have responsibility of the in-flight and operation control center.
"In the near-term, our efforts will be focused on reviewing our operations group and understanding where we can make improvements in both systems and processes, but we are looking to the future with these changes to our organization," said Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., CEO of Allegiant Travel Company.
"I have every confidence in Scott and Jude in their enhanced roles and that they will both continue to contribute to our ongoing success. They have each demonstrated their commitment to Allegiant during their tenure here."
Bricker joined Allegiant in May 2006 and became senior vice president of planning in 2012.
