Alliance Airlines takes off in Perth
Brisbane-based Alliance Airlines will start services to Perth from November 1.
Alliance will initially base two Fokker F100 aircraft in Perth as a charter service to mining company giant BHP Billiton.
“This is great news for Western Australian business, with demand for these services outstripping supply,” Perth Airport General Manager Richard Gates said.
“Winning the (BHP) contract has enabled Queensland-based Alliance Airlines to expand their operations into the rapidly growing Western Australian charter market, providing customers with a larger choice of service provider and aircraft type.”
Alliance Airlines will operate out of Terminal 3 (Virgin Blue/Skywest) and lease the area that was once the Ansett Golden Wings Lounge to provide a special pre-flight lounge area for its passengers.
