Amadeus adds Chinese language to chatbot
Travel tech company Amadeus has launched its Amanda chatbot into the Chinese-speaking world.
Amanda can now converse in traditional and simplified Chinese to offer Chinese speaking travel partners and customers real-time assistance.
It is already available in Spanish, English, French and Brazilian Portuguese and in more than 90 countries.
The AI-powered chatbot is accessible to travel agents in Amadeus Selling Platform Connect round the clock and the company says prior to the pandemic it had more than 97,000 active monthly users.
"Amanda’s popularity with our customers shows that there is high demand from travel agents for a more flexible approach to customer service. This underpins our broader vision to create a live travel space, where our customers can access the expertise and technology they need," said Pierre Giordano, Amadeus’ VP of Customer Service.
"Thanks to machine learning and artificial intelligence, we expect Amanda’s performance to continue improving in the future."
Amadeus says new languages are in development and will be added in the future.
