Amadeus travel agents across the globe will be able to get full access to Alitalia’s inventory after the airline inked a three-year deal with the technology supplier.
The full content contract also means that Alitalia will offer the same content via the Amadeus GDS channel as through the airline’s own website and that the airline will not charge a GDS fee to Amadeus travel agents.
Alitalia executive vice president sales, distribution and customer care Marco Sansavini said: “Travel agency distribution plays a vital role in our business and this contract is a recognition of that. We have collaborated effectively with Amadeus for many years and we look forward to expanding our relationship to further boost revenue from markets in and outside Europe.”
