Amadeus bolsters hotel content
Amadeus has added 1600 hotels to its system in the second quarter of the year with independent properties again the focus.
Around 25% of the new hotels are in the independent sector as it aims to deliver targeted product to agents.
The GDS said its strategy was to bring in content which is known to be relevant to agents and corporations. Around 200 recently added hotels were specifically selected by retailers or identified by analysis conducted by Amadeus.
“Independent hotels are increasingly important to leisure and corporate travel agencies alike,” said Amadeus hospitality business unit managing director Antoine Medawar.
In the business sector, he said Amadeus is now targeting lower-star hotels in business centres and is working with corporations to include hotels most used by staff.
