Amadeus UK confirms management changes
Amadeus has made two key commercial appointments but has also confirmed the departure of its commercial director.
Maria Whiteman is leaving the business at the end of April after almost three years in the role.
The technology group said it would be filling the position and added: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Maria for her contribution to Amadeus and we wish her well for the future."
Meanwhile, the group has appointed Kevin Myhill as head of corporate direct and Liz Emmott to head of sales, both based at its head office at Gatwick Airport.
Amadeus said the two new hires are not related to Whiteman’s decision to leave the organisation.
"Maria’s role covers a broad remit including customer account management and business development. Kevin Myhill’s priority is solution selling to large corporations and Liz Emmott is tasked with generating new sales across business and leisure travel segments. These new roles are complimentary to that of the commercial director," said a spokeswoman.
Myhill was previously responsible for the expansion of Vistair cloud-based aviation solutions across the global market.
Prior roles include growing new business in the UK and Ireland for Infor Global Solutions and building EMEA market share for ServiceSource. He is also a professional pilot.
Emmott joins following 18 years at American Express Europe, gaining experience across the payments, financial services, and corporate business travel sectors.
She has held positions including VP global business development and director, head of sales UK and Ireland at American Express Global Business Travel.
Champa Magesh, MD for Amadeus UK and Ireland, said: "I’m pleased to welcome Kevin and Liz to the Amadeus UK and Ireland team to spearhead our new sales strategy
"I am confident Kevin’s ability to understand complex client issues and propose the right technology solution will deliver value for our corporate customers.
"Liz will help travel companies across the leisure and business sectors achieve success and competitive advantage through deploying our latest tailored solutions.
"These appointments set us on the fast track to grow our presence in the corporate and travel industry segments in 2016."
