Amanda Taylor leaves travel to become a florist
Amanda Taylor has left Independent Travel Experts (ITE) to pursue a career as a florist.
Taylor, who has worked in the travel industry for 30 years, said her passion has always been in horticulture and floristry.
She was one of the founders and directors of ITE, the home-working business of TTA Worldchoice, along with Paula Turner.
The pair previously worked together as managers at Future Travel and set up ITE in 2011.
A spokesman for ITE said it had appointed Lisa Henning to come in and run the operational side of ITE in early July, at which time Taylor took the move into doing PR and marketing.
“She has since left the business to retrain as a florist and pursue her career in areas outside the travel industry,” she said.
“Amanda did a great job for us in helping to establish ITE, which is today trading very successfully. Paula Turner is still very much at the helm of the business and continues to be the main interface with members.”
Taylor added: “I have enjoyed 30 great years in the travel industry, but my passion has always been in horticulture and floristry. Over the past few weeks I have established a co-operative for local craftspeople and am thoroughly enjoying my new career.”
