Amercian Airlines drops lawsuit against Gogo
American Airlines has dropped a lawsuit against its in-flight internet provider, Gogo, just over a week after filing it.
The airline had filed a lawsuit accusing Gogo of providing poor wi-fi speeds on its flights and had sought to free itself from its contract with the technology provider, which is not due to expire until 2018.
Gogo uses ground-to-air technology, which has now been eclipsed by faster satellite-based tech.
American had hoped to switch to the satellite-based ViaSat system, which is already being used by United Airlines, JetBlue and Virgin America.
A statement by Gogo saying the suit had been dismissed without prejudice was confirmed by American Airlines.
