American Airlines adds seasonal flights to Barbados
American Airlines is launching new seasonal flights to the sunny shores of Barbados from Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Beginning December 19, 2018, American will fly daily nonstop to Barbados Grantley Adams Airport.
It builds on a 30-year record of 188,970 arrivals from the US last year to Barbados and coincides with the start of a third daily flight from Miami the same day which American announced recently.
The Charlotte-Barbados seasonal service runs through April 1, 2019.
"One month after announcing additional service to Barbados from our Miami hub, we’re thrilled to continue growing our presence in the island with new daily service from our Charlotte hub," said Alfredo Gonzalez, American’s managing director – Caribbean.
The two new winter season services will take the number of flights flown by American to Barbados to 28 a week.
"Our airline partners have been instrumental in the growth of visitation from the United States. This new service signals tremendous confidence in Barbados and constitutes a 100% increase in seat capacity into and out of the island." said Barbados’ new minister of tourism Kerrie Symmonds.
