American Airlines becomes first US carrier to serve St. Vincent and the Grenadines
American Airlines has announced a slew of new options for a sunshine vacation with new routes to the Caribbean and Hawaii.
Included is the first scheduled flight service by a US carrier to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
From Chicago O’Hare, American is introducing four new Caribbean routes to Aruba, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
All the new routes are seasonal Saturday flights starting from December 22.
The airline will also offer a daily winter seasonal service to Honolulu from Chicago.
It will also serve Aruba from Dallas-Fort Worth.
American will become the first US carrier offering service to St. Vincent and the Grenadines with a year-round weekly Saturday service from Miami, and several additional frequencies across the Caribbean from MIA.
Additionally, two new routes to Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas take off in December from Charlotte.
American also said it plans to tweak transatlantic service by cutting one Miami-London Heathrow Airport flight and instead operate a Dallas Fort Worth-London service.
Joint venture partner British Airways will take up the slack by adding a third flight between Miami and London.
"By better leveraging the networks of our joint business partners we are laying the foundation for American to grow its long-haul international network more profitably in the years ahead," said Vasu Raja, VP of network & schedule planning.
