American Airlines dropping London flights from Seattle
American Airlines is scrapping its direct London flights from Seattle.
It marks the end of American’s plan to turn Seattle into a west coast international hub.
The London Heathrow route is its only remaining international service at Sea-Tac.
“As part of a continuous evaluation, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue service between Seattle and London,” the airline said.
“We’re proactively reaching out to impacted to customers to offer alternate travel arrangements.”
The seasonal London flight ended last summer and was to resume for summer 2024.
American’s joint venture partner British Airways will continue flying to Seattle from London Heathrow.
The airline will use its London Heathrow slot on a second daily flight from Miami instead.
