American Airlines flight makes emergency landing at Dallas
An American Airlines flight on its way to Seattle was forced to return Dallas Fort Worth after flames were seen shooting from the wing.
Crew on board Flight 438 declared an in-flight emergency and returned to Dallas just after take-off.
The airline blamed the problem on a compressor stall and insisted the engine of the Airbus 321 was never on fire.
The plane was carrying 130 passengers and a crew of six. No one was hurt.
Police and fire departments in Arlington, Grand Prairie, were inundated with calls from people who had seen the flames from the ground.
One of the crew filmed the incident and the footage has been circulating on social media.
