American Airlines offering in-flight messaging, other perks
Following Delta’s lead, American Airlines will offer free in-flight text messaging for all flyers.
No launch date has been announced but it would be ‘soon’ American CEO Doug Parker said.
It will be available on all Wi-Fi enabled jets but at no cost.
Delta last week announced it will offer free messaging beginning October 1.
American is also offering free drinks and dedicated overhead bin space to Main Cabin Extra ticket holders beginning in early 2018.
These seats have extra legroom and include priority boarding.
Premium flyers in first class, business class and premium economy will get plush Casper bedding on long haul services from December.
The new Casper sleep experience has been designed specifically for air travelers and includes PJs, a mattress pad, duvet, pillow and day blanket.
"Customers and crew members who tried Casper on our flights said they loved it. Casper has set a new standard for premium sleep products and our new line showcases their attention to detail and design, and their commitment to providing the best rest possible for American Airlines customers," said Kurt Stache, SVP, marketing, loyalty & sales.
