American Airlines to fly nonstop to Tel Aviv from Dallas
American Airlines is launching nonstop year-round service to Tel Aviv, Israel from its Dallas-Fort Worth hub.
At the same time American also announced its first nonstop flights to Africa.
DFW-Tel Aviv flights will kick off on September 9, 2020 with service three times a week using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
It marks a return to the Holy Land after a four year gap when the Philadelphia-Tel Aviv service was scrapped.
It will be the only service linking Dallas with Israel.
"It’s a huge validation of the tremendous economic growth in North Texas and its immense potential. When you look at the marketplace, Tel Aviv is really the largest underserved destination in the American Airlines network," said Vasu Raja, American’s vice president of planning.
American also unveiled its first foray into Africa with seasonal service from Philadelphia to Casablanca, Morocco.
It begins on June 4, 2020 and operates through September 8, 2020.
Raja says the airline has been mulling flights to Africa for a ‘really long time.’
The service will allow easy onward connections to Marrakech, Morocco, Lagos, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana via American’s partner Royal Air Maroc.
At the same time American announced additional seasonal summer flights from Chicago O’Hare to Europe including Krakow, Poland, Budapest and Prague.
