American Cruise Lines names new riverboat
American Cruise Lines has revealed the name of its latest ship.
The Lines’ eighth vessel will be named America, reflecting its beginnings as American built, flagged, and crewed.
The new Mississippi paddlewheeler is under construction at Chesapeake Shipyard in Salisbury, MD and is scheduled to begin sailing the Mississippi in early 2016.
The America promises to be "the finest Mississippi paddlewheeler ever built, introducing features never before seen on a riverboat," a company statement said.
