American cruise passengers ‘most annoying’

American cruise passengers are seen as the most annoying by their British counterparts.

A poll by cruise reviews and news website Cruise Critic found that many people are reluctant to take a cruise because they are worried about being stuck onboard with cruisers they don’t like.

The nationality 47% of British passengers find most annoying on a cruise ship are Americans.

But Brits also don’t like their own company with fellow UK cruisers coming in second (21%) on the list of the least favourite cruise companions.

Rounding out the top six after Americans and the British are Germans, Italians, French and Russians.

Cruise Critic editor-in-chief Carolyn Spencer Brown said: “This survey is a bit of fun and in fact most cruise travellers are far too busy enjoying themselves to worry about their fellow companions.

“Modern cruise holidays on big ships involve a plethora of entertainment, activity and dining options, meaning that you are very unlikely to be stuck with anyone you don’t want – unless of course, it’s the better half.”
