American, Porter Airlines announce codeshare partnership
American Airlines has inked a new codeshare agreement with Canada’s Porter Airlines.
The codeshare pact aims to make transborder and connecting flights more seamless.
American has now placed its code on some Porter operated flights from Toronto Pearson to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX), and domestic flights to Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa Victoria and Winnipeg.
American says it plans to add more of Porter’s domestic flights to the codeshare like Calgary, Saskatoon and Vancouver.
Additionally, Porter is expanding with four new US routes to Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth and Philadelphia.
Other US cities will be added in the coming weeks, the airlines say.
American AAdvantage members traveling on Porter operated codeshare flights will earn AAdvantage miles.
