American tourists attacked by crocodile in Mexico
Two American tourists have been injured in a crocodile attack in Mexico
According to the local civil defense office, one went swimming in the ocean at night and was attacked.
He sustained bites to his leg, arm and chest
The second tourist entered the water to help, suffered a wound to his hand.
It happened at Bocanegra Beach in Puerto Vallarta.
Both men, who are from Colorado, received medical attention at a local hospital.
Crocodiles are not uncommon in the area.
A year ago an American woman was dragged underwater by a croc in Puerto Vallarta but survived.
A crocodile attacked a British woman last year in the Manialtepec lagoon near Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
