Americans Pick Top U.S. Tourist Treasures
What are the top sites Americans want to see as the country’s most valuable treasures?
Perhaps not surprising, the Grand Canyon came out on top when the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) raised that question in a survey.
It was followed by the Statue of Liberty, Yellowstone National Park, the White House and Washington monuments, and Niagara Falls.
The rest of the top ten were the Hawaiian Islands, Mount Rushmore, the Redwood Forest in California, The Glaciers and the Fjords of Alaska and the Rocky Mountains.
“It’s interesting to note that the top ten are all magnificent outdoor experiences that either highlight our natural beauty or our history and culture,” said Roger Dow, TIA’s president and CEO.
TIA is a national, non-profit organization representing all components of the $593 billion US travel industry.
