Americans put Italy at top of travel resolution list
Fly.com”s annual New Year Travel Resolutions Survey says Italy is Americans’ top travel destination.
The survey says that twice as many respondents said they wanted to go to Italy than France or the United Kingdom combined. Australia and New Zealand snagged the number two and three spots followed by the UK and France (4), the US itself (6) Ireland (7), Spain (8), Fiji (9) and South Africa (10).
"It is no surprise that Italy is at the top of America’s wish list for 2013," said Warren Chang, vice president and general manager, Fly.com. "The destination conjures up images of romance, history and some of the finest food and wine in the world."
The Fly.com survey questioned 875 U.S. travelers Dec. 1-13 about which countries they would most like to visit within North America, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania/Antarctic if money and time were not objects.
All of the respondents were Travelzoo Inc. and Fly.com users.
