Amex Foreign exchange teams up with Aussie Post
In a move that will offer Aussie travellers greater convenience, Australia Post this week signed on as the latest distribution partner for American Express foreign currency purchased online.
“This deal caters to the growing number of Australians who prefer to purchase their travel funds online. Now travellers will have the choice to collect their order at more than 3,100 Australia Post locations around the country, in addition to our Foreign Exchange retail branches around Australia,” said Vice President of Global Foreign Exchange Services for American Express Nick Dinopoulos.
The deal is also expected to benefit regional Australians due to the number of participating Australia Post outlets in these areas.
Customers can order foreign cash & Travellers Cheques online at www.americanexpress.com.au/FX4You, pay for their order through BPAY and nominate their nearest Australia Post outlet or American Express Foreign Exchange office for collection.
Customers are required to display photo ID to pick up their order and allow four business days from the date of order for the delivery of their travel funds to their nominated Australia Post outlet.
“We are pleased to offer this service through our outlets across Australia as we know it will offer greater convenience for the many travellers who prefer purchasing their foreign currency online,” said Australia Post Group Manager – Financial Services, Terry Stephens.
Travellers can purchase American Express foreign cash in 60 currencies and American Express Travellers Cheques in nine currencies.
