Amsterdam’s hotels on view on Architecture Day
Under the motto ‘Room Service’, the focus of this year’s Architecture Day was on hotel architecture. On June 23 and 24, 2007 twenty architecturally unique hotels in Amsterdam opened their doors to the public, permitting a look inside that is typically reserved only for guests. The public could wander past reception, linger in the lobby or restaurant or pop upstairs and view one of the many rooms which distinguish that hotel.
Participating hotels included the Ambassade Hotel, American Hotel, Amstel Hotel, Hotel Arena, NH Barbizon Palace, Black Tulip, The Dylan Amsterdam, Hotel de l’Europe, NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Hilton Amsterdam, Lloyd Hotel, Mövenpick Hotel, Okura Hotel, Hotel Pulitzer, Renaissance Hotel, Stay Okay Hostel, Schiller Hotel and Sofitel The Grand Amsterdam. Each hotel has a history, a distinct concept or a characteristic interior design.
