An Australian first: Check-in.com.au uses new online mapping tools to celebrate five years of growth

With online synergy an emerging trend, Check-in.com.au is leading the field in this trend, with check-in.com.au experiencing its fifth official birthday this February and to celebrate, in an Australian first, the company has launched all 3000 accommodation properties on the popular online mapping sites Whereis.com, Google Maps and Multimap.

Check-in.com.au has seen consistent and at times explosive growth over the past five years, with figures of $950,000 in bookings in its first year to over $25 million by the end of this coming financial year.

Although the industry as a whole is continuously growing, Simon Isaacs, Managing Director of Checkin.com.au attributes the company’s individual strong performance largely to the fact they stay flexible and act quickly to market opportunities.

“The medium size of Check-in.com.au allows us to identify opportunities, act and react immediately to the industry demands.”  “We have managed to place all 3000 of our properties on these mapping sites quickly because we don’t need to go through layers of company bureaucracy,” said Mr Isaacs.

Consumers are becoming increasingly savvy at booking online and using online resources. Tools such as Google Maps, Whereis.com and Multimap have become popular ways to search for destinations with Whereis.com visited over four million times per month, alone.

“This new online synergy allows consumers going on holidays or planning their next business trip to check out the surroundings of their desired destination – shopping malls, lookouts, golf courses – and book directly through Check-in.com.au by clicking on the icon on the map.”  “Or if they choose, they can simply view the great value prices of that property up to 28 days out,” said Mr Isaacs.

While this trend of synergy between online resources and tools will become increasingly commonplace, Check-in.com.au has set the pace which will no doubt continue to fuel positive results for the company entering its fifth anniversary.

“We started the company in a laundry, building the website and taking bookings over the phone only”.  “We had a vision then, and we have the same vision five years on; that is to provide our customers with an extensive range of quality accommodation at outstanding value for money, Australia wide,” said Mr Isaacs.
