Anantara resort to open in Qatar
Minor Hotel Group has announced the first Anantara property in Qatar – which will be the seventh country of operation for Anantara.
Anantara Doha Island Resort & Spa is a five star resort under development on a 13-hectare island just off the coast of Qatar’s capital Doha.
With 141 guest rooms, including over-water pool villas, the resort will have an extensive range of facilities when it opens early in 2014.
In addition, there will be a marina accommodating up to 50 boats, an offshore reef and reef conservation centre and a fully equipped diving centre.
Minor Hotel Group is partnering with the Qatari owned company Al Rayyan Hospitality for its first property in the country
The group currently has five properties in operation in the UAE – three Anantara properties in Abu Dhabi and two Oaks serviced suites, one in Dubai and one recently added in Abu Dhabi, with three further Anantara properties under development to open in the UAE this year.
These will be two villa properties on Sir Bani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and the group’s first resort in Dubai. In addition, 2014 will see the group opening in neighbouring Oman.
