Andhra Pradesh on the move
SINGAPORE – Having the last media conference on the final day of a tourism show is a bit like drawing an outside barrier in the Melbourne Cup horse race. Your chances of success are pretty slim.
And so it was with Andhra Pradesh Tourism, who turned their media conference at ITB Asia into an informal chat with a small number of journalists who turned up to hear a presentation by Gottipati Sujatha, deputy director, Andrha Pradesh Tourism.
Capital city Hyderabad, the sixth largest city in India, has been recognized by National Geographic as “one of the great mega cities of the futureâ€.
It is also gaining a reputation as India’s pre-eminent city for medical tourism, and with a new conference and exhibition centre, it has presented its credentials for hosting international events, such as the recent PATAMart 2008.
Andhra Pradesh has a Buddhist heritage, rich cultural and religious traditions and sites. Plus 1000km of coastline.
Andhra Pradesh has a good story to tell. Hopefully more will be listening at ITB Asia 2009.
