HolidayTaxis.com has appointed Andy Baker in the newly-created role of director of UK sales.

Baker joins HolidayTaxis.com directly from bedbank YouTravel.com where he was sales director and, more recently, chief marketing officer.

During his time at YouTravel, Baker was ‘instrumental in redefining the distribution strategy of the business in order to accelerate sales growth through the UK trade’.

Before that, he was one of the founding management team members and head of sales for Hotels4u.com/Medhotels.

Baker assumes his new role on October 15, reporting directing to HolidayTaxis.com global sales director and deputy managing director Ian Coyle.

Coyle said Baker was in great demand when he announced he didn’t want to relocate to Dubai with YouTravel.

"His experience in working with blue chip travel brands, alongside his contacts and knowledge of all the UK dynamic packaging industry is second to none," he said.
