Anguilla Tourism visits UK travel trade
Deputy Director of Tourism for the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB), Chantelle Richardson and newly appointed Coordinator of International Markets, Kohn Richardson recently visited the UK to engage with key travel trade partners.
The British Overseas Territory received 98,000 visitors from January – May 2024, overtaking the total arrivals for full year 2019.
British tourist arrivals to Anguilla in 2023 were 17% up on 2022, and UK arrival figures for 2024 indicate that the year will end 30% up on 2023.
From 4 – 12 November, the ATB team conducted a series of individual meetings with UK tour operators and leading luxury focused travel agents.
They exhibited at World Travel Market on the CTO stand; and participated in a Caribbean Ministerial Roundtable featuring Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism from across the Caribbean.
A major highlight of the UK mission was a dedicated Anguilla trade dinner in London on 12 November, as Chantelle Richardson showcased the island’s new tourism investments and developments.
These include the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport masterplan plan, new sustainability developments and Anguilla’s diverse product offerings, festivals, cultural experiences and events.
The dinner was also attended by Dorothea Hodge, the Government of Anguilla UK Representative.
“The Anguilla Tourist Board’s dedicated initiatives reflect a focused strategy to position Anguilla as a leading Caribbean destination in the UK market,” Richardson said.
“By showcasing our world-class offerings and fostering strong relationships with travel trade professionals, Anguilla is set to increase visibility, attract high-value travellers, and drive tourism growth.”
ATB is also positioning the island as a premier diving location and a global leader in sustainable dive tourism.
A new Dive Tourism Policy was announced highlighting sustainable dive practices and community involvement.
