Another 2,800 jobs to go at Air France
Air France has announced a further 2,800 job are to go as it struggles to turn its business around.
The airline, which is already cutting 5,100 jobs from its 69,000-strong workforce, hopes the latest round of cuts will be achieved through voluntary redundancy.
It also hopes to cut costs through "wage moderation".
Air France, part of Air France KLM, had hoped to break even this year following five consecutive years of losses, but has now admitted that 2013 is likely to see a net loss again.
It blamed high fuel costs, weak demand, competition from low-cost airlines and the "cyclicality of air transport" for its situation.
Negotiations have now begun with unions.
