Another Qantas flight attendant stood down
A report in The Dominion Post in NZ says that a Qantas flight attendant has been stood down after allegedly giving a teenage Kiwi passenger his cellphone number and asking the boy if he wanted to chat online.
Qantas has begun an investigation, and the mother of the 15-year-old, from Porirua, is demanding answers.
“It’s just disgusting. It made me feel sick all night,” she said.
“My son was freaked out. He’s just an innocent little kid.”
A Qantas spokesman confirmed yesterday that the steward had been stood down pending the outcome of the investigation.
The woman said her son was acting strangely when he disembarked from a flight from Auckland on Monday night.
He told her that the steward asked him for his cellphone number and, when he refused, gave him his own number.
She said the steward then asked if he had an account on the Bebo website and if he wanted to chat online.
“He thought this guy was just chatting to him, but when he asked for his cellphone number … that was crossing the line.”
