Argentina bans British cruise ships
Two British cruise ships were refused docking at an Argentine port in an escalation of diplomatic tensions a month before the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.
P&O Cruises’ Adonia, and Princess Cruises’ Star Princess, were both refused entry to the port of Ushuaia at the tip of South America after visiting the Falklands.
P&O’s Adonia was on a South America Adventure tour that left Southampton on January 13.
Star Princess, operated by Princess Cruises was refused entry into the same port following a similar docking at Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.
The UK Foreign Office said there could be “no justification for interference in free and legitimate commerce”.
