Argentina introduces four-month flight ban

Tuesday, 28 Apr, 2020 0

Argentina has banned all domestic and international flights until September 1.

IATA is warning that more than 300,000 jobs are at risk as a result.

Non-residents have been barred from entering Argentina since March and now the country’s National Civil Aviation Administration has decreed that airlines should be banned from selling tickets on commercial flights for the next four months.

The country has nearly 4000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and so far 192 people have died from the infection.

Meanwhile, Alta, a group which lobbies interests of Latin American and Caribbean airlines, said the decree was not ‘agreed with the industry’.
