Asia’s Jet Set Event of the Year

Singapore is set to celebrate once more as guests from all corners of the globe take part in the party celebrations at the IndoChine Festival 2007.

Having already established itself as a seasonal favourite with locals and tourists alike since it’s inception in 2004, this year’s compendium of events will take place from Sunday 21 October through to Sunday 28 October 2007.

The IndoChine Festival is Asia’s jet set event of the year, providing a platform for guests from Europe and the Middle East to establish an Asian network and strike potential business partnerships through a superb line-up of convivial activities.

The IndoChine Festival this year will once again play a part in positioning Singapore as a world-class destination but more notably as a superior leisure and lifestyle destination. What makes the four-year-old Festival so electrifying each year is that it has so many unique and exceptional characteristics, the most exciting of which are its vast variety of events and parties.

IndoChine Group CEO, Michael Ma says, “IndoChine Festival is Asia’s only Jet-set Event of the Year and aims to brand Singapore as the destination of choice for all types of visitors.”

“This festival is a platform to showcase Singapore as more than just a stopover city for business travellers.”

“This year, we have teamed up with the Sun Festival, making our festival bigger and better than ever before.” “From soft easy jazz to pulsating music and rhythms, the musical entertainment will ensure that every guest will take home a memorable experience of their time spent in Singapore,” he adds.

Mindy Coppin, Senior Vice President & Director, IMG Artists (Asia Pacific) says, “We are thrilled to be working with the Indochine group for the Singapore Sun Festival.”

“Indochine is a premium life-style brand as is the Sun Festival brand globally, so there is great synergy between our organisations.” “We hope to be working with Indochine annually to develop events such as the Singapore Sun Festival over the many years to come and in doing so contribute to the continued growth and development of the entertainment and life-style industries in Singapore and continue to make Singapore a great place for residents and visitors alike”

Ma also notes that, “he festival is already gearing up to be even bigger than last year’s event, with more activities in store for the discerning participant, particularly with the addition of an exciting Ladies Polo match to wrap up the festivities.”

Said Ms Lynette Pang, Singapore Tourism Board’s Director for Cluster Development (Events & Entertainment), “We are enjoying a boom in Singapore’s entertainment and nightlife landscape. Singaporeans and visitors are spoilt for choice with a slew of events every weekend and a host of year-round leisure and lifestyle activities to choose from.”

“Events such as the IndoChine Festival and the Singapore Sun Festival will add to the vibrancy and buzz in our city and help distinguish Singapore as one of the leading entertainment capitals in Asia and a top-of-mind destination for visitors from all over the world.”

The highlight of the week-long festival is the IndoChine Tropical Fiesta Gala Dinner – an annual dinner that affirms IndoChine as a holistic lifestyle concept leader.

‘Copacabana’ is the theme this year, and the dinner will be yet another extraordinary evening of superb cuisine, fine wines, lively entertainment and socialising.

“We are excited to have such a great line-up for our fourth consecutive festival. Additionally, funds raised from the silent auction will go to the Halogen Foundation,”says Ma.

Expressing appreciation for IndoChine’s efforts, Martin Tan, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Halogen Foundation Singapore, said, “we are grateful that IndoChine shares our views and vision about youth leadership development and has the foresight to invest resources into our young leaders today.”

“The amount raised by this year’s IndoChine Festival will definitely have a significant impact in helping Halogen Foundation to further develop and make accessible youth leadership programmes for every young person in Singapore.”
