ASTA intrigue: Hillary Clinton to keynote conference? Maybe.
Most Americans are wondering whether Hillary Clinton will run for president–but for the travel industry the bigger question is whether she will be the keynote speaker at the ASTA convention in September.
Travel Age West reported that the famous female Clinton, the former first lady, senator, secretary of state and presidential candidate, will be there. But the American Society of Travel Agents itself declined to confirm or deny the story, saying it has not yet made the name of the speaker public.
An ASTA spokesperson today would tell TravelMole only that the conference is being "completely revamped from what we’ve been doing in the past under our new CEO, and will have a big-name speaker."
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Miami from Sept. 17-19. Attendees can sign up at ASTAGlobalConvention.org.
It may well be the hottest ticket in town.
