ATPCO chief to retire at year-end
ATPCO President and CEO Rolf Purzer announced he is retiring at the end of the year.
He retires from the organization effective January 2021, while successor Alex Zoghlin officially joins ATPCO on 1 November for a leadership transition period.
Zoghlin takes over from 1 January 2021.
Purzer has spent 24 years at ATPCO, and has been in his current role since 2017.
Purzer oversaw the company’s acquisition of Routehappy, the first in its history and also led the launch of the NDC Exchange platform.
ATPCO services now span all areas of flight shopping, across pricing, retailing, distribution, and settlement.
"For decades, Rolf has been a leader supporting the air distribution ecosystem. He has fundamentally shaped ATPCO into a modern industry utility," said Jerry Foran, Chair of the ATPCO board of directors.
Zoghlin brings major industry experience as the founder of several travel companies including online travel agency Orbitz.
He also held senior positions with companies including Hyatt Hotel Corp.
