Attendance rises at UK trade show
Organisers of the Best of Britain and Ireland Travel Trade Forum report a 5% increase in attendance this March, underlining the building trend for staycationing.
The show, the centrepiece of British Tourism Week, is the only exhibition to focus solely on the UK.
It is now in its second year and grew by a quarter in its new home at London’s Olympia. It attracted 2,600 visitors over two days and drew more exhibitors than last year with key coach operators and group travel organisers swelling the trade ranks.
Director of distribution and commercial at Visit Britain Kenny Boyle said: “Best of Britain and Ireland Travel Trade Forum has once again been a flagship event and we have been delighted with the response from exhibitors and visitors, with a great deal of serious business taking place over the two days. This demonstrates the vibrancy of our fantastic tourism offering and the crucial role that the industry has to play in the recovery of the wider UK economy.”
