August 2006 travel technology news round-up
News this month has been over-shadowed by the terrorism alerts of August 10 although the events did highlight one key online issue – that of the robustness of websites. It’s hardly surprising that airport websites fell over with the increased volume. But it demonstrates two things – first that website technology must be able to cope with massive surges in demand and secondly, that there is always a place for people.
The remainder of the technology news has focused on website improvement, development and new online tricks emphasising how seriously companies are taking their web presence and the race to create customer loyalty through personalisation.
