Aussie trains get on the track
Great Southern Railways (GSR) has launched a new travel initiative the ‘Oz Tracks Pass’ that allows under-35’s six months of almost unlimited travel on the Ghan, Indian Pacific and The Overland for $690.
The Pass makes it easy to explore Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Darwin, Melbourne and their surroundings, as well as key points en route.
GSR CEO, Mr Tony Braxton-Smith said, “The new Pass will provide an affordable and relaxing way for young adventurers to explore Australia. With up to 14 city to city trips available over 6 months, Oz Tracks offers fantastic value, at less than $50 per destination.”

The $99 return fare for travel between Melbourne and Adelaide on The Overland has also been extended for bookings up to 15th September 2007, for travel up to 31st December 2007.
The Overland departs Adelaide passing through Murray Bridge, Bordertown, Nhill, Dimboola, Horsham, Ararat and Geelong every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 0725, arriving 1840.
The return is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing 0735 and arriving Adelaide 1810, 1915 on Thursdays.

Also, ‘One of the truly great train journeys of the world’ is offering Green Season Packages, with between November and February, the Top End entering the Green Season and GSR offering, from $59 (per person, twin share) more than the Gold Kangaroo fare a package deal.
It includes: three nights accomodation in Darwin with a City Sights Tour, the famous Jumping Crocodiles, Fogg Dam Nature Reserve and Window of the Wetlands.
