Destination travel search engine www.australiatravelmarket.com has signed up STA Travel and Airline Network.

Both companies join other new signings including Tailor Made Travel, Bridge & Wickers, Global Travel Direct and Hamilton Island in Queensland’s Whitsunday region.

Formed by ex-Quest Travel boss David Simmons and launched in February, the site claims to have has generated more than £250,000 worth of flight bookings for ebookers, Opodo and Travelbag alone. This figure excludes accommodation and car hire bookings generated through the site.

Simmons said: “I am extremely pleased with the number of new signings we are generating on an almost weekly basis. It is obvious that key players in the Australia travel industry are coming to see us as a valuable sales tool, one that can not be ignored.”

The site is designed to provide independent travellers with the resources to research, price compare and book travel to and within Australia. It is a division of Global Travel Market and the first in a series of www.travelmarket destination dedicated sites.
