Austria tightens entry restrictions for UK arrivals
Austria has tightened restrictions for arrivals from the UK but travellers who have received a booster can skip quarantine.
New rules imposed require quarantine even for double vaccinated people.
Those who have also received a booster shot and present a negative PCR test are exempt.
The new rules also apply to arrivals from Denmark, Norway and The Netherlands as well as the UK.
These countries have been added to Austria’s higher ‘risk areas’ due to a surge in infection rates, fuelled by Omicron.
Hospitality venues are required to close at 10pm, one hour earlier than currently.
This takes effect on 27 December.
