McNicoll Vehicle Hire is headquartered in Newbridge, just west of Edinburgh and specialises in the car and van rental sector.
It offers a varied fleet of vans and cars including long-term business van hire.
The acquisition sees Avis Budget Group grow its footprint in Scotland, including the latest opening at Glasgow Central.
“McNicoll Vehicle Hire has built a strong reputation for delivering an exceptional level of service “, said Alan Olivier-Smith, Avis Budget Group UK GM.
“Investing in Scotland, broadening our vehicle rental offering, and working alongside a locally owned and well-renowned business is a core focus for us “, he added.
McNicoll MD, David Stewart said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Avis Budget Group.”
“By combining the strengths of the two companies, we are able to provide our loyal customer base with an even better rental experience.”
