Avis doubles UK branches

Avis Rent a Car has doubled its rental locations across the UK in the past nine months, giving it more than 220 branches.

Its network has been boosted by new hotel partnerships with independent hotels and Holiday Inn, which account for a total of 60 new car rental branches across the country.

Commercial director at Avis UK Anthony Ainsworth said: “Over 100% growth of Avis’ town and city branches in just nine months is a significant development for the company, and puts us another step closer to realising our target of having an Avis branch within a few miles of every household in the UK."

He said the car hire chain planned to add a further 150 locations before the end of the year.
