Azul adding more Florida flights

Brazilian carrier Azul is expanding its route network to the US.

It is adding more flights to the Sunshine State, a perennial favorite with Brazilians.

Azul is relaunching service linking Belo Horizonte with Orlando starting in December with four flights a week.

A new route between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Belem International Airport will also operate four times a week from December using Airbus A320 jets.

"Not only have our customers been asking for these flights, but this also strengthens our strategic positioning in these important cities. In addition to the new nonstop flights, we are also optimizing connectivity as well as increasing frequencies to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from our Sao Paulo – Viracopos hub," said Azul founder and chairman David Neeleman.

It makes nearly five flights a day on average connecting Brazil with Florida, Neeleman said.
