BA appoints new UK & Ireland head of sales
British Airways has announced that Stephen Humphreys will be the airline’s new head of UK & Ireland sales and marketing from the end of July.
He will replace Richard Tams, who after five years in the role, is moving to become the airline’s executive vice president, China.
Humphreys will take on the responsibility for British Airways’ and Iberia’s relationships with its UK and global corporate customers, travel management companies, partner leisure agents and tour operators.
Drew Crawley, British Airways’ chief commercial officer said: "We are delighted to have Stephen on board in this strategically important role.
"The UK market is crucial for British Airways and Stephen brings a fantastic wealth of experience to the position, which will enhance our relationship with all of our stakeholders."
Humphreys said: "I’m really looking forward to joining the terrific team at British Airways and continuing to build on Richard Tams’ great work with our corporate customers and industry partners."
Humphryes has worked in the airline and travel industry for 20 year, previously holding senior roles with BA including regional general manager South West Pacific and general manager corporate sales in UK & Ireland sales.
Subsequently, he held various senior regional and sales positions within Qantas, in Australia, before moving to New Zealand to become managing director of Stella Travel Services, the country’s largest integrated travel company.
