BA ‘bomb hoax’ steward to stand trial
A British Airways steward who allegedly claimed a flight from London from Tokyo would be blown up will stand trial for communicating a bomb threat.
Uxbridge magistrates today referred the case against Matthew Davis, 22, from Crawley, to Isleworth Crown Court for a hearing on May 10.
Davis allegedly left a note on the aircraft toilet door saying that a bomb on board would explode at 4pm. It was found by another member of the cabin crew as the aircraft was flying over the Middle East on its way to Heathrow.
BA has suspended Davis, who was granted bail by magistrates at an earlier hearing in February.
