Roger Burr, British Airways Regional General Manager South West Pacific yesterday launched BA’s new Club World seats in Sydney, revealing that the new seats were 25% wider than the previous seat and that they also had new privacy screens and in flight entertainment.

He said that that the Sydney route was a high priority for the airline, reflected by Sydney being one of only five international destinations being guaranteed new club world seats, with the new seats available on the Sydney – Bangkok services in November and on Sydney – Singapore in the middle of next year.

He added, that although BA had pulled out of Melbourne the airline was committed to staying in the Australian market and would not depend on codeshares, continuing to fly their own aircraft on the route.

Gavin Halliday, British Airways Area Commercial Manager, based in London said,  “The significance of Australia to British Airways is demonstrated by Sydney being one of the first routes and destinations to get the new Club World product.”
